A Treasure Hunt Gone Wrong
Wildlife photography gives a sneak peek into the amazing world of animals and their interesting diurnal and nocturnal activities. Wild creatures are those of habits and just like humans, go about the nightly shenanigans, playing treasure hunt games in this case.
This deer came upon a barrel filled with yummy treats by chance and could not wait to share this surprise with the other members of the herd. However, the surprise turned out to be a nightmare. What do you call a barrel stuck between antlers? Here's to hoping someone did help him to dislodge his 'predicament' - we mean the barrel.
Hitch-Hiking a Ride
Why choose a conventional ride when you can a piggyback on a feral hog! Here a raccoon was getting pretty bored of following the same old ways of transportation and so he chose a feral hog instead. Come to think of it, it seems quite a comfortable seat and a pretty safe one too. The raccoon who may be a little scared of the night, thought it better to get a cushy back to make his way through the perils of a jungle night.
The best part is that the wild boar took it to his stride and did not throw the raccoon off his back. We hope the duo on to their nightly adventure reaches their home safe.
What's With The Hat?!
Animals dig fashion shows too! A case in point is the deer here in the frame who chooses to don the fashion hat, and in this case, he chooses a tumbleweed one! He looks great with his lighted top, glowing and surprised eyes, and a killer grace.
Well, we all know that it isn't a fashion show. Instead, the young buck was relaxing in his area when suddenly the dried pileup landed on his head, thanks to the wind. Just at that right time, the camera caught the hilarious moment of the deer and his antlers, unbeknownst to the animal.
On the Hunt!
While most of us love to hug a cuddly cute little toy teddy bear and it can immediately relieve you from stress, a live one can actually give you the heebie-jeebies. However, if you would love to watch the cute animal up close and in person, right in its natural habitat, a trail camera is just what you need.
This cute little animal was hunting down a tasty bamboo shoot or was trying to fetch the same from the other members of its herd. The bear certainly can turn out to be the ultimate fur buddy. Don't you think?
A Group Photo
There is no better sight than catching a herd of deers looking with their inquisitive eyes at the camera. They are confused and staring hard at the lens, wondering what is the flashing object.
Deer are pretty and cute animals who can charm humans with their innocence. We wonder how the entire herd of animals is coming together all at once to look at the person directing their eyes at the camera. Or maybe there is a photographer who is catching their attention. The camera is catching them surprised and they look quite that in the picture.
It's Time to Have Dinner
Otters are not big on sharing their food with others, and this otter is no different. He was in the process of hiding his next big meal away from prying eyes when the camera caught him. He casts his glittery and surprised eyes at the lens.
Well, it may not be easy to catch the fish all by himself. It must have taken hard work to get his hands on the fish, and harder work to sneak it in away from the other animals who may want to share his prized catch. Poor him, he did get caught though, and maybe that's the reason we spot a sheepish look on his face.
No Sleeping at Night
Owls like to stay awake at night and maybe the reason is that they like to keep the other animals company. As a way to beat the nighttime boredom, they scare off the other unsuspecting animals who then get the scare of their lives. The naughty owl must have plans to take a ride on its back and go around the jungle. All we can say from the picture is that the naughty owl is up to no good.
The poor deer's sleep gets disrupted and all thanks to the trail camera we have an answer to the question of who scared the poor deer. The candid shot also lets us catch a sight of the bird in all its glory.
Eagles' Day Out
Catching an eagle through the course of the nightly rendezvous can turn out to be one of the most stunning visuals ever. Everything right from its grace to its intense gaze is something to marvel at. What can be better than one? We guess it's two birds. The two eagles are fighting it out in the air, trying to get one up on the other. It's one of the most stunning sights ever.
However, as much as the sight is thrilling, it can also send a chill down your spine if you are trying to think what will happen if you are caught between two warring eagles. What you cannot watch in real life, the trail cameras can catch that rare sight for you. We should be forever grateful for this technological wizardry.
A Flying Squirrel
Squirrels are as cute as they are naughty, and we love watching them scurrying around, trying to pick tidbits from the ground or just hurrying around with their furry tails trying to portray their busy lives. What is interesting to note is that these adorable creatures have highly stretchable limbs and can easily jump from one branch to another.
Did you know that there are not one but several species of squirrels? The cute one looking at the camera is known as the flying squirrel troop. They look like bats but they can't fly. They can jump though. Look how the squirrel jumps to aim at the unsuspecting deer's back.
Friends' Nighttime Shenanigans
Technology is improving by leaps and bounds and has the potential to freeze beautiful moments for posterity. If you take a look at this picture, you'll know exactly what we are speaking about. There are very few instances of animals captured in a selfie together, especially wild animals who don't look into the polaroids to get themselves clicked.
Animals, usually run away from these man-made objects, especially cameras as they feel humans are going to hunt them down. That is why trail cameras are the perfect substitute. The raccoon here is trying to find out more about the camera and the deer behind are oblivious to the lens, enjoying their meals without a care in the world.
Much Sought-after Car
It looks like the two creatures have realized the potential of a new home in the old abandoned car. However, it is still not clear, who between the two of them will make the old cars their new home. We bet more foxes are looking to make it their safe haven and marking their own territories.
We are guessing there is a major battle on the anvil. So, what do you think, would the wily fox win or will the car turn out to be the vicious raccoon's domain? The raccoon seems all set to beat the fox if the glittering eyes are anything to go by. Hope the best creature wins the battle.
It’s All Fun and Games
Here all the raccoons are coming together to enjoy some quality time together. It is a veritable bonfire night. However, they are overstuffed as they have eaten way too much, and are prancing around in sheer joy. No wonder most of them are feeling the effects of a merry-making night. Too much food and activity has made them drowsy and they are rolling on their backs, spent out.
Thanks to the trail camera, you got to know how these amazing creatures party! Isn't it great to watch these nocturnal creatures living it up in the best way possible?
Mommy Deserves a Break!
We feel the plight of this poor creature. She feels really sleepy, yet cannot ignore her babies too. Not unlike human babies right? We hope, the poor mother, does not fall off and in the process affects her kids.
The cute little cuddly creatures are such an adorable sight. These rare sights can only be captured with good trail cameras. These cameras can help us get a better understanding of their lives and what happens in the jungle when you do not know what actually happens behind the green veneer.
There's No Ride Like a Buffalo Ride
Piggybacking is one of the best ways to go around, or so believe most of the creatures of the night. Imagine riding on a buffalo without having to pay for it. Cows and buffalos are the ultimate carriers in the animal world. Whether it is birds or other small creatures, everyone uses cows and buffalos for transportation. It is such a cute thing to note - and pretty funny too - when we see small creatures using cows and buffaloes as their transport of choice.
The cows are not bothered by the thought of carrying these creatures for free. The cat, though, looks pleased as punch, getting a ride on the cow's back.
Coyote Vs. Deer
Although we don't admit it, the animal kingdom is more like the human kingdom. One of the many similarities is how animals fight or play with each other. But what we would like to know is what caused the fight between two deer and a coyote. There must be something that causes a rift between the two species!
The scenario looks downright hilarious. While the bucks look cool as a cucumber when the little creature starts babbling at them, the coyote on the other hand is shouting at the top of his lungs. Maybe the creature is marking its territory.
No More Photobombing
While humans may not be able to spot remote cameras all the time, animals are able to do so quite easily. They may even fiddle with the device and get close-up shots. It is not always the case though, sometimes they may not be able to get clear and close shots.
We wonder what animals think when they spot a camera, like a woodpecker here. Was it thinking that it is a wooden branch and started hitting on it? We are just glad that the bird couldn't harm the camera and took some stunning shots of a green background.
The Ultimate Mud-Bath
Most wild animals find it amazing to immerse themselves in cool mud to make it a natural air conditioner. They mainly do this to beat the scorching summer days. A trail camera can capture the image of a muddy tiger walking all around in all his glory.
There is nothing like getting a mud bath for some summer relief. It is great to see the gorgeous color of mud on the tiger's skin. The whole demeanor of the tiger speaks of royalty. Well, mud or not, the tiger is in his habitat with his majestic stride, he sure is going to give the lord of the jungle vibes.
Let's Party
There is nothing like enjoying some quality time with your friends and family. We are sure a family of deer loves to spend time with each other as well. A trail camera caught a herd of deer right in the middle of a dense forest.
The herd is all eyes and ears, and they look a little alarmed about this technological wonder if their eyes are anything to go by. Well, we hope they are not too bothered about the camera noting down their every move. They look quite cute, looking at us with their glittering eyes.
Run For Your Life!
Imagine a wild coyote running you up a tree? The hungry coyote thought the raccoon would turn out to be easy prey, but the latter had some smart tricks up his sleeves. He was able to easily outsmart the cunning coyote and run up the tree like there is no tomorrow.
Thanks to the trail cam, we realized that the animal made it safely to the top and saved himself from an impending attack. Well, better luck with a wild goose chase, coyote, better luck with next time around. For this case though, the raccoon got the better of the coyote.
The Fight Between the Deer and the Raccoon

Although raccoons have been the subject of discussion over here, we see a deer in this shot taking the center stage. The antics of the two animals have been all documented by the trail camera. The deer and a little raccoon have been squabbling over something which we don't know anything about.
We don’t know what created the rift, but the picture does speak a thousand words. Here it seems that the raccoon is playing the second fiddle. However, we want to know whether things actually worked out for them in the end and they were able to settle their animosity.
Spooky Sightings
While we are used to watching animals in their natural habitat, we are not used to getting the shock of our lives by watching a face like that right before our eyes. Imagine watching a clown right in the middle of a forest and in the dead of the night. We really need to know why he is looking like that at the trail camera.
The only logical explanation would be was heading for a fancy dress party and checking out the camera before heading for home. Well, if this isn't the perfect material for a scary movie, we don't know what is.
Run Bunny Run!
A hungry lion attacking a poor rabbit may not be the best thing to watch. Even though we don’t know what happened and whether the rabbit was able to escape scot-free. Well, it may be because rabbits have a great hearing sense and speed, and they use these faculties to fight the predators.
We don't know whether the startled rabbit could slink away, but we sure hope he gave him a good fight before capitulating to a lion. The trail camera caught the surprised look of the rabbit and the sly look of the lion easily.
Coochie-Cooing Couple
Animals love to spend time in their natural homes. The camera caught some tender moments between these two deer. Well, most of the time we are not able to spot such caring moments between animals, so this is rare.
Not only are they cleaning each other, but also using it as a sign of affection. They may also go about frolicking around the greener pastures of the forest. Whatever may be going on between them, we sure think that looks really adorable. This picture may be one of the best ones to be caught on the trail camera yet.
Eagles Fighting it Out
Watching these giant birds in real life can be really scary, but watching them on a trail camera can be a majestic sight. They are also fighting tooth and nail to find the right wood to build their nest.
We don't know how they will be able to build the nest, but whatever they are doing, they are still a sight to behold. However, much like watching the majestic fliers, we would be really scared to watch them lashing out and flapping their wings angrily. This is indeed a great capture.
David Vs. Goliath
Whatever little we know about boars, one thing is certain that they are known for their aggressive behavior. They do not only behave aggressively with other animals, but they are equally aggressive with humans, which can be really scary.
We bet the raccoon in the picture is shivering right down to his paws, trying to stand up to the giant of an animal. We hope the wily animal could escape and hoodwink the boar. Well, we would certainly like to know what happens afterward. Wouldn't you love to know too?
Bear Or Wolverine?
By the first look, you wouldn’t guess that the trail camera brought something cute to the forefront. This photo is a little unclear, yet there seems to be some mystery behind it! You might think of it as a bear. Check the back legs and it might even appear as a wolverine!
Just in case you didn’t know - wolverines are strong carnivores that resemble small bears. No, we don’t mean this Wolverine is a Hugh Jackman version, but it’s cute. This snapshot has been taken in the night mode, so it looks even better.
That’s Damn Tasty
Just like a baby is subjected to weaning who develops a taste for new food items (as much as it despises few), this bear or wolverine’s new favorite is Santa’s hat. The good thing is that Santa’s not alive!
But do you think he should be blamed? No! Animals rarely get good gifts during Christmas and this one decided to munch on him and have fun. Some naughty behavior can be forgiven and this is surely one of those. We hope our large-sized friend gets some gifts for next year, at least.
Night Time Anger
On ordinary days, you wouldn’t see this avatar of a simple moose. But this one who was probably hunting for food or simply walking down the jungle with his mates sure looks scary! Thanks to the trail cam, his shiny eyes seem to say a different story.
Regardless of the size, it's important for you to stay wary of the moose. After all, you can’t guarantee his fluctuating mood patterns, and to top it all, it’s the nighttime. This one, we bet, isn’t possessed by an evil spirit, but just take a close look!
Ray Of Food
Who would have guessed that raccoon would pull off a great food heist! But look at this intelligent creature making a complete shower of food grains on his mates. What makes us wonder is how they even managed to get the bird feeder and then let the seeds rain from the top.
But the real excitement lies at the bottom. See the trail camera and you’ll see how the raccoons are enjoying the food shower. And yes, the one on top is an amazing friend, without any doubt. Guess this friendship should inspire humans too!
And He Fell
This is a rare shot. It seems that these three deer decided to go on a night stroll in the hope of getting food or water, and a strange accident occurred with one of them. However, as much as we empathize with the animal that’s falling, we have to admit it’s an amusing click!
Deer are anyway known for their immense strength and we hope he’ll be okay. On the other hand, the other two friends are a tad confused and still can't seem to figure out what exactly went wrong.
No Child’s Play
Camping is great and most of us seem to take a great liking to it - as long as we’re not chased by animals! Now imagine walking along to find this deer family enjoying themselves. Of course, deer are completely safe and you would love to take a picture as the shutterbug who didn’t fail to take this much-needed candid.
So the duo seems to fight for their deer (dear) life. But why would you fight at all? Well, that’s unknown, but it just gives a better glimpse of their natural selves amidst mother nature.
Gives The Creeps
Doesn’t this take us to those scary Hollywood movies? Have you seen The Birds by Hitchcock? If not, then this picture should help you visualize the fear factor associated with horror movies! Rarely do such a huge flock of birds happen to be seen together, but the cameraman knew he had to take the shot, lest he laments over missing this.
Probably the feathered creatures are preparing to migrate ahead of the winters, or there could be some secret predator nearby. But the way the animals seem to flap their wings and darken the ambiance around is certainly something to think about.
Omg! Who’s That?
We’ve often heard stories and reports stating the presence of strange creatures amidst the woods and dark jungles, but this is a rare sight. Whether you’ve seen or heard earlier - you can’t afford to miss out on this night vision click. We guess the shadow might have been created for the sheer movement, but you never know.
There is too much blur here and anyone who views this would be curious to know more about the strange entity. What would you do if you were here? Run, we suppose!
Somnambulism At Its Worst
No this isn’t funny. Children are most affected by sleep-walking and we want to believe this is one such case. But then if a situation like this arises, you’ll be bound to feel that this kid isn’t merely lost or walking in his sleep - he might not be living at all!
If you find this disturbing, then it would be worse learning that children who sleepwalk often find themselves in strange places and doing strange things they never thought of! So, if someone comes along to take him back home safely, it’s a boon. But first, confirm.
Call Of The Hills
This picture makes you guess plenty of things. So there is this deer (that looks like a horse) that was probably munching on wild fruits, only to become alert and flee. Or perhaps the fruits tasted so awful or contained some suspicious stuff that made it run for life!
For now, we can surmise this deer had no intention to run. Suddenly a squirrel came from nowhere and they fought over food! If nothing else, maybe the deer heard the call of the wild, so it had to leave aside everything and run.
Even I Want A Selfie
Whoever said selfies were meant only for humans has no idea what the world of animals feels like. This deer got a bit up, close, and personal (those cute nostrils are hard to resist!) and decided to be the subject of this snapshot.
Its inquisitiveness was immense and we bet it wanted to inspect the camera and the cameraperson in greater detail than ever before. Guess no one told me how difficult it is to delve inside a human! Nevertheless, we’re glad a click like this came up because it doesn’t happen always.
O’er The Moon
Had it not been a full moon day, these wolves wouldn’t have shrieked in this manner. Go back to your Jungle Book days and you would remember how a wolf used to howl looking at the pristine, white full moon.
This trail cam captured a ‘pack of Coyotes’- only 3 though, that continued howling looking at the top. This is a lovely capture and you can frame great stories around it. But delve a little closer- and you’ll see the carnivores and their shrieks are the reason why you felt creepy in empty mansions.
Unlikely Bonding
This is a typical picture containing a click of a trail cam where you see a weird friendship blossoming. So the wolf decided not to harm the young woman who was trying to find something in the woods. But the moment you question the woman’s safety, there is something uncanny in the picture that would surprise you.
The fact she’s shown as a ‘crouching’ figure sparks mystery. Was she possessed? Is that the reason why the wolf chose to maintain distance from her in the next shot? But why on earth did she choose to pint her fingers at the camera?
In Togetherness There’s Happiness
The animal kingdom never fails to surprise us. Now when you have a few of them trained (in their own ways of course) and prepared to exhibit their smartness, like these raccoons- it raises some pertinent questions.
This is teamwork defined- a trait absent among humans at large. These little creatures are menial than their human counterparts, yet their choice of supporting each other to reach the goal is an exemplary one. This is incredible and we credit the lensman to pick up a move that’s so required for the present times, at least for us.
The Moon? Or New Prey?
Feeding in carcasses of animals like deer, moose, and cattle can get boring after some time. So this smart man decided to check out few trail cams. Unfortunately, least did he know that two lionesses would be on a prowl close to his home and not some common hyenas and deer or wolves.
The royal animals made a foray into the neighborhood, which should be a point of concern. But it’s unclear if they’re trying to focus more on the source of light (moon or some human approaching) than on few fine-dine options.
Let Me Pick You Up
Every picture has a story to tell. Sometimes, our cameras can take shots that either have us in splits or make us emotional. This snap right here is so cute that we can’t help but admire the compassion that animals share. The little one couldn’t probably reach out to look into whatever was in the barrel.
Mama bear took the cub up from behind and helped it access the contents of the barrel. This snap is the epitome of animal mindfulness. We sincerely hope that both the mother and child could actually lay their paws on what was present in front of them. It’s a misconception that only humans can be compassionate. Wildlife can actually give you a pleasant surprise time and again.
Somebody Up for a Tango?
Wildlife has so much to offer that you seldom would get bored with all the amusing behaviors that are on display. Most of their actions are least expected, like this one. The deer don’t want to miss out on the chance to showcase his skills in front of the camera.
Did you always think that only humans can be cultured? He proves you wrong. The way he stands on his two hind legs and gets ready to show off his moves is absolutely brilliant. The only missing factor in this snap is a partner who would shake a leg with him.
Love Is In The Air
Cats and PDA? Why not? They too have the right to feel romantic and would love to share their feelings with their partners. This photograph is one of the most perfect testimonies of animal romance. The felines completed their dinner and before dozing off to sleep, they decided to share a goodnight kiss.
They are absolutely oblivious to their surroundings and have no idea that our lens has accidentally captured them in this mushy moment. We are not sure for how long this PDA went on, but we were glad that got to see something so interesting and beautiful as this.
Fight Club
Brawls in animals are common and you might have seen many of them. But this photograph seems to portray a lot more than a simple and innocent fight. This comes across as an out-and-out war to establish one raccoon’s dominance over the other.
The two are confronting each other and are not ready to take things lying down. We were actually in the audience for this incredible main event and couldn’t skip a chance to click these raccoons getting gung-ho about proving who is the stronger one. It’s so nice to see these little ones get involved in such social activities.
Excuse Me!
Being in the spotlight can be sometimes irritating, more so when you are eating. Not only humans, but even animals can also feel the same way. For example, this otter was about to start his dinner when the camera light took him by surprise. The expression on his face says it all.
It’s probably a fish that the otter is planning to feast on. He was about to have a great time, till he was disturbed by the photographer. He surely would have moved to some quiet place where no one would interrupt him when he is enjoying his platter.
Oh No!
Well-timed pictures are worth treasuring. This snap is definitely one of them and we can’t help but laugh at how frightened the bunny has been when he was startled by either a predator trying to hound him or the cameraman.
On second thoughts, he could also have been hot on the heels of his partner who had run away with the stash of carrots, they had to plan to feast on. He doesn’t want to be late and get deprived of the tasty dinner. The “real-life Bugs Bunny” did give us a hilarious moment. More than anything, we loved the timing of this snap.
What Do You Want?
This deer was busy gorging on a yummy meal before the camera clicked him. That had him off guard and the face he makes is simply adorable. He is not happy with this intrusion and going by his stare, it seems he is asking, what the hell on earth is the cameraman doing there.
What would have happened after the photo was taken? Did he run away from the spot? Was he intrigued enough to get more mugshots? Did he bring his entire crew to get them clicked by any chance? Well, whatever it might be, we love the way he is staring straight into the camera.
Oh, Dear!
Deer are not hunting animals, and they don't chase down and prey on other animals. However, if it's the mating season, they will totally chase each other. They are majestic animals, and watching them run or chase down each other is pure bliss.
In this trail cam image, the deer is apparently chasing down its partner. We are not sure when this photo was taken, but we are quite sure it's the mating season. We guess the guy had a serious feud with his girl, and he desperately wanted to explain a few things to her. But as you can see, Mrs. Deer is not in the mood to talk.
Who's In The Woods?
What if we told you that this photo was captured in a very old cemetery? While we love to believe that this is the image of just an ordinary woman crossing the woods, on her way home, the reality might be very different. From her choice of clothing, it seems the person was chasing down a dog or simply trying to find her way out of the woods.
Many described the image as a paranormal one and it was shared endlessly all over the internet. What we don't know yet is the real identity of the woman (or man?) in the image. This was clicked about 200 yards of an old slave cemetery in Texas.
The Punching Bag
We often invent ways to vent out our anger, but gym rats would tell you that the best way to take out anger is to spend time at the gym. It seems the reindeer in this photo was heavily inspired by its human counterparts and found a workout buddy to exercise all the fighting moves he learned in the gym.
It's actually a nice idea! Remember punching bags and boxing dummies? Well, if you are not really hurting someone or causing any damage, you are free to vent out your anger on punching bags, isn't it. Seems this deer can give us some anger management lessons too.
